Girls Entering 2nd Grade

Middies

Girls who are entering 2nd grade and above are excited to be part of Girls’ Side, known as the “Spirit” of Ramaquois. Girls are encouraged to celebrate their individuality and support each other. As the youngest members of Girls’ Side, the Middies always bring enthusiasm and energy to the Spirit Side!

Girls’ Side

The Spirit of Camp Ramaquois

Honestly, there are no words. I was so sad watching the twins get off the bus on the last day. Ramaquois has been so amazing. It made them brave, more confident, and showed them they were true campers. Thank you for everything. All three of my children are better for having gone to Ramaquois.

Girls’ Side campers are challenged in athletic, creative, and social ways while feeling supported; these opportunities allow them to take healthy risks, develop self-esteem, increase their competencies and build confidence in themselves. Girls’ Side is a kind and respectful community that offers its campers real experiences and authentic connections.

A Day in the Life of a Middie

Sample Schedule

The youngest campers on Girls’ Side experience a great variety of activities. Each day features instructional swim, free swim, lunch and a balance of athletic and non-athletic activities. Several times per week, the Middies have an elective program, allowing them to pursue a passion at camp.

The daily program is supplemented by exciting special events, making each day at Ramaquois truly unique!

The Best Role Models

For Ramaquois Staff, It’s More Than Just a Summer Job

Our Girls’ Side staff members do a terrific job of leading our girls to be confident in their abilities to break many stereotypes and stigmas. Staff members are thoughtful and respectful of each camper’s uniqueness. Counselors have the ability to lead with confidence and competence, which allows the campers to become the best versions of themselves.

With a five acre lake and nine heated pools of varying depths, there is plenty of room for campers to “spread their fins.”
Learning to Swim

We View Swimming as a Critical Life Skill

Our goal is to help each camper improve his or her comfort level in the water and improve his or her individual swimming skills. Ramaquois swim groups feature very low camper-to-swim instructor ratios. Our campers have swim instruction every morning and free swim every afternoon. We are always so proud of how much each camper improves in just one summer! Learn more about our lake and pools
